We’ve Been Busy!

August 23, 2010

So we’re back on the blog. Yes, it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted. But I have a good reason: we’ve been busy selling our excess “stuff” on Craigslist! Why? Because we don’t want to drag more than we have to across country. And we’re applying the money we make from our sales to fund the start-up of my business. Yes, I’m taking the Big Leap and finally putting my skills, talents and knowledge to use and starting my own business! So stay tuned in the next few weeks as I create momentum and move forward with my business. I’m so excited to share my vision with you!

It’s All in Who You Know

July 29, 2010

It’s All in Who You Know… that common phrase is more true now than ever before. That’s why we are asking all of our friends and family to not only follow us on our mission to move to Colorado and support us, but to also pass our story on to other friends and family. As word spreads, we become connected to a much wider group, which allows for greater opportunity of finding a great job that allows us to move to Colorado! So we ask that everyone please continue to pass along our story and support our Mission!

We Need Job Leads!

July 26, 2010

To make our mission to move to Colorado a reality, we need to find job prospects for Dave. On the tab “How 2 Help” on our website (http://family2colorado.wordpress.com) you can find a downloadable version of Dave’s resume and a description of what type of employment he’s looking for. Please download it for yourself to pass along to anyone who might have a connection to jobs in Colorado, and please pass along our website and Facebook information to friends and family. We want to get the word out about our mission and reach as many people as possible! Thanks for your help.

Our New Facebook Page

July 24, 2010

So we are not experts in Facebook… far from it. But our group page just wasn’t working the way we imagined it would. So we have closed that page and opened a new page, still titled Family 2 Colorado. You can now “Like” our page and we want as many people as possible to support us by “Liking” us! Thanks!

Farmers’ Markets

July 24, 2010

It’s 7 am and we are about to step out the door to go to a local Farmer’s Market in Royal Oak. You can’t get any better than fresh produce directly from a local farm. And it feels great to support a small local farm over a large supermarket chain!

We know there are many Farmers’ Markets in Colorado – here’s a link I found when adding Farmers’ Markets to our list of why we want to move to Colorado. With an extended growing season and great weather, we’ll be able to get fresh produce from local Colorado farms longer than here in Michigan. And we can’t wait to check out the Boulder Farmer’s Market, perhaps the best know market on the Front Range.

Here’s to eating healty and supporting local farmers!

The Spunky Coconut

July 23, 2010

Pretty cool name, huh? :) Kelly at The Spunky Coconut is having a giveaway of iherb products and I am entering into the drawing because I’m always in need of the great products she is giving away. Kelly is an amazing home cook located in Longmont, CO (of course!) that is committed to cooking gluten free, casein free and sugar free healthy food! I love her recipes and have been inspired by her in so many ways. She is yet another reason (# 103) why we want to live in Colorado! Please visit Kelly at The Spunky Coconut to see all the great work she’s doing!

AA part 2 – Conor O’Neill’s

July 23, 2010

Forgot to mention while we were at the Art Fair, we walked by both the restaurant and food booth of our favorite establishment in Ann Arbor: Conor O’Neill’s! They have such an authentic Irish experience and great food. And what’s even better is that there is a sister bar in Boulder! Another great reason (#36 on our list) to move to Colorado.
